Joe Biden's Approval Numbers Hit New Low!
From the Gallup Poll:
As Joe Biden begins his reelection campaign, his job approval rating among the U.S. public has slipped to 37%, the lowest Gallup has measured for him to date. Biden’s job approval has been in the low 40% range for most of the past 19 months, apart from the current reading and a 38% score last July.
Biden’s latest approval rating is from an April 3-25 Gallup poll, which was completed the day he announced he will seek reelection, and marks a three-point dip from March and a five-point drop from February.
This decline has pulled down Biden’s job approval average for his recently completed ninth quarter in office, which spanned Jan. 20 through April 19, to 39.7%, the lowest quarterly average in his presidency.

YOU Pay For NJ Prisoners' Sex Change Surgery!
NJ spends $467K on prisoner sex-change operations, gender care so far this year . . .
NJ 101.5New Jersey taxpayers are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on gender-affirming care and sex-change surgeries for violent and serious offenders behind bars.In response to an inquiry by New Jersey 101.5, the Department of Corrections confirmed four such surgical procedures this fiscal year alone. Many people now refer to these procedures as gender-affirming surgeries. It was not immediately clear how many prisoners have received gender-affirming surgeries in previous years — but one prisoner who did get the sex reassignment procedures did so while serving a 50-year sentence for the murder of a female sex worker.

Testa Champions Efforts To Protect Women's Sports
New Jersey State Senator Michael Testa called for the New Jersey Legislature to advance a proposal he sponsors to protect women’s sports to complement recent congressional action that is intended to preserve the spirit of Title IX.
“Title IX was adopted in 1972 to ensure that girls and women are not discriminated against and have a fair playing field in sports and other school-related activities,” said Testa (R-1). “Sadly, that fair playing field that girls have enjoyed for 50 years is slowly disappearing as more male athletes who identify as transgender are choosing to compete in women’s sports, including swimming, track, and even power lifting. The House of Representatives was absolutely right to take action last week to protect women’s sports from this full frontal assault, and New Jersey shouldn’t hesitate to do the same.”
The House of Representatives in Congress passed H.R.734 on April 20. The “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023” amends Title IX to “provide that for purposes of determining compliance with Title IX of such Act in athletics, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.”
In New Jersey, Senator Testa sponsors similar legislation, S-589, the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act.”
Testa’s bill, first introduced in 2021, requires that participation in school-sanctioned sports be based on biological sex at birth. It provides that public and nonpublic schools, as well as institutions of higher education, designate athletic or sports teams on the basis of biological sex. The bill also prohibits any athletic teams or sports designated for females, women, or girls from being open to males.
With more biological men participating in competitive female athletics, Testa said legislators have a responsibility to act to maintain the protections and fairness long offered by Title IX.
“You only need to see the way biologically male athletes like Lia Thomas tower over their female competition to realize that transgender athletes have an unfair advantage,” added Testa. “It’s a bigger problem than just the appearance of unfairness, it’s increasingly borne out in the final results of competitions where women have been crowded off the winners’ podium by transgender athletes. If we want our daughters to have the same opportunity to train hard, compete, and win that their mothers enjoyed under Title IX, we have a responsibility to act now to protect women’s sports.”
And Now, A Very, VERY Important Message!

Poll: Hunter Accusations Comprise 'Serious Scandal'
Accusations that President Joe Biden’s son got “preferential treatment” from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are a serious scandal, according to a majority of voters, but few expect the president to be impeached over it.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 40% of likely U.S. voters believe that the investigation of Hunter Biden is likely to lead Congress to impeach President Biden, including 18% who say it’s very likely. Fifty-five percent (55%) don’t think Congress is likely to impeach the president over the Hunter Biden probe, including 29% who say it’s not at all likely.

Above All, We Will Miss His Fantastic Hair!
It's been reported that an interim program, "Fox News Tonight," will air at 8 PM EDST until a permanent replacement for Carlson is named. "Fox News Tonight" will be hosted by a rotation of various Fox News personalities. The last edition of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" aired on Friday, April 21. The show began airing in 2016. One wonders if Tucker even knew that last Friday's show was his last. There was no "goodbye" -- no special departure commentary.
Tucker had the highest ratings on the network. This is a Very Big Spot to fill. But then again does Fox News even care? The network has been drifting off the reservation for quite some time now, or so it seems. For our part, we stopped watching it regularly on election night 2020. The alternatives? We recommend Newsmax, News Nation or One American News.

Trump And Cleveland: Will History Repeat Itself?
In fact, in all of American history, only one president has been shown the door by the voters after one term only to come back four years later and be elected to a second non-consecutive term. That was Grover Cleveland, but that was 131 years ago.
Being turned away by the voters after you've sought the highest office in the land doesn't leave you many avenues for a comeback. Again, in my lifetime, only one person who was nominated by a major political party and lost the presidential election has come back to win the office on a second try. That was Richard Nixon, and we all know what happened to him.
Through the course of his whole life, Donald Trump has loathed the term "loser" and he's tried to avoid it at all cost. He understands the dire implications of being tagged a loser, no matter what your endeavor or line of business. And even though he's unquestionably experienced major professional setbacks, he's always shown a remarkable capacity for shifting gears, moving on and diverting attention from any failures. Indeed, he's been quite a magician in that regard.
But the sort of rabbit that Trump is trying to pull from his hat now would require a masterstroke. True, in some ways Grover Cleveland's loss of the presidency in 1888 mirrored Trump's because, like Trump Cleveland lost key swing states that he won in his first victorious bid for the office. And, in at least one state Cleveland's opponents allegedly engaged in fraudulent voting practices. Sound familiar?
But unlike Trump, Cleveland actually received a plurality of the popular vote in his re-election bid. Which is probably one of the reasons why the Clevelands seemed so confident they'd be returning to the White House that upon leaving, First Lady Frances Cleveland told a a staffer: "I want you to take good care of all the furniture and ornaments in the house, for I want to find everything just as it is now, when we come back again
And yes, like Trump Cleveland continued to maintain a hold on the imagination of his party, so much so that anti-Cleveland elements of the party were unable to create a coalition large enough to deny Cleveland the nomination in 1892. As a result, Cleveland was easily nominated by his party on the first ballot. Foreshadowing what may happen next year, the former president then went on to once again face President Benjamin Harrison who previously wrested the White House from him. In the end, Cleveland won both the popular and electoral vote in historic fashion. But it's important to remember that the vote was split because of a third party populist candidate and that inured to Cleveland's advantage.
Similarities and dissimilarities. There's no way to definitively say that what happened to Grover Cleveland gives us any guide to the 2024 presidential election. After all, Cleveland was only 55 (still a vigorous campaigner) when he won in 1892 and was returned to the White House, whereas Trump would be 78 in a similar situation. And again, that was more than 130 years ago and the only time that this has ever happened. Still, one can never say never. For example, it had been 152 years since a sitting vice president had been elected president when George H. W. Bush was elected in 1988 ending what appeared to be a long-standing jinx. And one should never underestimate Donald Trump or discount the vagaries of history.

Following Tucker Carlson’s release of previously unseen videos from the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, more voters now believe it may have been provoked by undercover agents.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 65% of likely U.S. voters think it’s likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the so-called J6 riot, including 46% who say it is very likely. Twenty-six percent (26%) don’t believe it is likely the riot was provoked by government agents, including 12% who think it is not at all likely. In late February, before Carlson aired the videos on Fox News, 61% thought it was likely undercover agents played a role in provoking the J6 riot. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Murphys' Magna 'Majesty' Misspends Your Moola!
New Jersey taxpayers are on the hook for nearly $500,000 dollars of lavish furnishings in Governor Phil Murphy’s and wife Tammy’s new offices in the Statehouse. Murphy defended the out-of-touch spending by saying, “We want to do this with some amount of majesty.” Taxpayers are not his royal subjects. And, as Assemblyman Antwan McClellan pointed out, “Other administrations paid for their personal desks in the Statehouse and fancy renovations, so I don’t see how these purchases can be justified.” That rug cost $114,420 – about $25,000 more than the median annual income for a family in NJ.

Testa Champions Protection Of NJ Shoreline!
One of our favorite state legislators, Senator Michael Testa urged the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to continue working with Maurice River Township and the Maurice River Historical Society on a plan to protect the East Point Lighthouse.
“I’m concerned that the DEP hasn’t shown much urgency in developing a long-term plan to protect the historic East Point Lighthouse from future beach erosion,” said Testa (R-1). “We met with DEP officials several times last year to discuss the lighthouse, but we have not received a plan for shoreline stabilization as promised. With the current protective Geotube nearing its end of life, there isn’t much time to waste.”
The shoreline in the area has eroded by 400 feet over the years due to storms, leaving the 174-year-old lighthouse less than 100 feet from the water.
A temporary sand-filled Geotube was installed to protect the lighthouse from flooding in 2019. Geotubes have an expected lifespan of five to seven years.
Testa urged the DEP to release a shoreline preservation plan for East Point Lighthouse quickly and to work closely with the Maurice River Historical Society, which completed a major renovation of the lighthouse in 2017, to allow the building to remain open to the public.
“The DEP is lucky to have strong local partners who have made major investments of time, financial resources, and manpower to renovate, maintain, and operate this important New Jersey landmark,” said Testa. “It’s really frustrating that the historical society hasn’t gotten anywhere with the DEP on a plan for shoreline preservation around the lighthouse or future operations.”
Given recent news, the senator said the situation is unfortunate, but not surprising.
“Communication isn’t exactly the DEP’s strength as evidenced by recent violations and fines issued by the DEP against itself,” Testa said. “If two offices in the DEP can’t get on the same page, what hope does anyone else have for navigating this massive State bureaucracy? Working with the DEP shouldn’t have to be so difficult.”
Poll: Bud Boycott Backed By 2 to 1 Margin!
In the aftermath of an uproar over Anheuser-Busch’s use of transgender model Dylan Mulvaney to promote Bud Light beer, a majority of Americans favor boycotting the brand.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 40% of American Adults say Anheuser-Busch’s transgender promotion makes them less likely to purchase Bud Light, while 19% say the Mulvaney promotion makes them more likely to buy Bud Light and 37% say it doesn’t make much difference to their beer-buying plans. That's a two to one margin supporting the boycoot of Bud. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

OMG! Murphy Spends Lavishly On Palatial Office!
And it's YOUR taxpayer $$$$ he's spending!
New Jersey State Senator Ed Durr (R-3) issued the following statement after it was revealed that Governor Phil Murphy spent more than $500,000 on furnishings for the newly renovated Governor’s Office in the State House, including $217,000 for three rugs in his office and an office used by First Lady Tammy Murphy:
“I understand the State House is a historic building, but did the Murphy administration really have to spend nearly a quarter-million dollars on antique rugs?
“It sends the wrong message to taxpayers for Governor Murphy to spend lavishly on decorating his office while he’s simultaneously proposing to slash State aid to schools and towns across New Jersey.
“While the governor enjoys his opulent furnishings, teachers are being fired, students are falling further behind, and property tax bills are rising. It may look good in his office, but it’s not a good look for Governor Murphy.”
