The Resentment Verses Retribution Election

Call it Resentment vs Retribution.

In its simplest terms, that's probably what this November's presidential election is all about. To be sure, the resentment was there first. In fact, that's how it all started.

It began with Democrats whipping up resentment -- class resentment directed at the haves by the have-nots.  Because, let's face it, Democrats have been fueling class warfare for decades. Their message and their policies have always been based on the notion that if somebody else is succeeding, you must be failing -- if somebody else is getting a bigger piece of pie it's not because the pie has grown larger, it's because they're taking a chunk of the pie from you.

They have what you want.

So, you have every right to be resentful, they preach. And, if you can't get what you want by earning it, the Democrats say "don't worry, we'll take it from them and give it to you, or better yet -- take it yourself; take whatever you want and we'll back it up, we'll protect you."

This is angry. This is bellicose. And this is a tinderbox.

But that's what it's come to. That's what the Democrat Party now stands for. And of course this is socialism if not outright communism. But Democrats don't even try to hide it anymore. They're brazen.

And so a billionaire like Donald Trump makes a perfect target for them. After all, he's the epitome of capitalistic success -- an accomplished developer, a real-estate tycoon, a savvy businessman, an entrepreneur and a shrewd builder of brands. On top of it all, he's not the least bit shy about it. So much so that's he's become a celebrity, an icon and the President of the United States.

So, naturally he had to be destroyed -- and by whatever means necessary.

Because his very existence disproves the Democratic Party's raison d'etre.

But, wait -- turns out you can "defeat" him but you can't destroy him. He cannot be intimidated; cannot be cowered; cannot and will not go quietly.

And suddenly, this gives hope to all those who've felt deceived, pushed around, pushed aside, and literally robbed. They see a way forward -- a way to fight back. And, make no mistake about it, this gives rise to a desire for retribution. Those who've been aggrieved for decades (the forgotten ones) have risen up. And they're now saying "this needs to be made right; there's been real damage done and someone needs to pay for this." In other words, it's payback time!

No, America -- this is not the sort of election we might have hoped for. Nor is it the sort of scenario we might have sought. But this is where we are because one party has remained docile for far too long while the other looted the treasure of our values and our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Now, at this late hour, emboldened and seemingly strengthened by his own lesions, a fearless warrior proclaims: "Don't worry. I'm okay. And together, we're all gonna be okay and they're gonna pay for this. They're gonna pay!"

The 'Political Agenda Of A Kangaroo Court'

"Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to “get” Donald Trump.

"That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City. This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction. "It is often said that no one is above the law, but it is also true that no one is below the law. If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict. "In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court."

-Governor Ron DeSantis

'Conflicted Judge, Rigged Trial, A Disgrace'

Statement from President Donald J. Trump

on the Rigged Biden Trial Verdict

"This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. It's a rigged trial, a disgrace. They wouldn't give us a venue change. We were at 5% or 6% in this district, in this area. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial.

The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people. And they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here. You have a Soros-backed DA, and the whole thing, we didn't do a thing wrong.

I'm a very innocent man, and it's okay, I'm fighting for our country. I'm fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now.

This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent. And I think it's just a disgrace. And we'll keep fighting. We'll fight till the end, and we'll win because our country has gone to hell.

We don't have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess. We're a nation in decline, serious decline, millions and millions of people pouring into our country right now from prisons and from mental institutions, terrorists, and they're taking over our country. We have a country that's in big trouble.

But this was a rigged decision right from Day One. With a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case. Never. And we will fight for our Constitution. This is long from over. Thank you very much."

- President Donald J. Trump

Well, If This Is Now What It's All About . . .

Wait a second . . . . we can now indict and convict a former President for paying off women he had sex with to keep them quiet . . . ? Hmmm . . . .

Will The People See 'Right Through' This?

"This verdict, like the case itself, is a travesty of justice. The nakedly partisan judge biased the trial at every turn, from allowing an unconstitutional indictment in the first place to excluding key evidence to rigging the jury instructions. The American people will see right through Joe Biden and the Democrats’ weaponization of the legal system."

Senator Tom Cotton

The Voters: Destined To Be The Ultimate Jury

"The future of this country should — and will — be decided by the American people in an election, not by 12 New Yorkers in a travesty of a politicized courtroom."

-Mike Pompeo

Frontloaded From The Start; Destined to Backfire?

"The prosecutor is a politician who promised to nail Trump.

"The judge’s daughter is a Democrat operative who literally raised $$ from the trial while her father presided over it. "The jury instructions said they didn’t have to agree on the crime to convict.
"This will backfire."

-Vivek Ramaswamy

A Radical Abuse Of Our Justice System

"Extremist Democrats have undermined democracy by weaponizing the courts to operate like a banana republic that targets their political opponents.

"Today’s verdict is a defeat for Americans who believe in the critical legal tenet that justice is blind. It was clear from the start that Biden teamed up with heavily biased DA Alvin Bragg to go after his political opponent regardless of wrongdoing—while hardened criminals are set free in New York to commit more violent crimes against innocent citizens. "This is nothing more than an attempt to interfere with the 2024 election. The radical Democrats behind this abuse of our justice system will not prevail. The voters will settle this on November 5th."

-Congressman Steve Scalise

After Shore Unrest, Legislators Call For Action

In the wake of the lawless, tragic weekend in Ocean City where a teenager was stabbed, Republican Senators Joe Pennacchio (R-26) and Robert Singer (R-30) are calling for immediate legislative action on a bill that will protect communities and empower police to prevent future incidents.

“The dreadful activity in Ocean City was completely out of control and totally unacceptable. It was yet another preventable incident, and it should never have happened, but the Legislature dropped the ball,” said Pennacchio. “Our bill would provide communities and law enforcement with the tools necessary to combat these riots. If it was passed when it was introduced, maybe we wouldn’t be worrying about the next ‘event’ that could erupt in violence, property damage and business interruption during the crucial summer season. This will continue to happen until the legislative leaders in Trenton step up.”

“Riots and vandalism will drive visitors away and devastate the summer season. As a state, we cannot afford that,” added Singer. “Make no mistake, these are not peaceful gatherings. Organizers solicit young people to come out and cause trouble. They create situations that are volatile and dangerous. Under our legislation, we can stop these riots before they get out of hand.”

The Republican lawmakers are calling on the Legislature to approve their bill following yet another chaotic weekend at the Jersey Shore in which a teenager was stabbed on the boardwalk in Ocean City, which was part of a larger riot that ended with multiple arrests.

The bill, S-399, takes the following steps to maintain order in New Jersey streets:

Expands the categories of riot to include aggravated riot, inciting a riot and aggravated inciting a riot.

A municipality has a duty to allow the municipal law enforcement agency to respond appropriately to protect persons and property during a riot or an unlawful assembly based on the availability of adequate equipment to its municipal law enforcement officers and relevant state and federal laws.

If the tentative budget of a municipality contains a funding reduction to the operating budget of the municipal law enforcement agency, the municipal attorney or a member of the governing body who objects to the funding reduction, may file an appeal to the Division of Local Government Services in the Department of Community Affairs within 30 days after the day the tentative budget is posted to the official website of the municipality.

If, during a riot, an object is thrown at certain emergency personnel including law enforcement officers, or if emergency personnel are struck, whether with an object or not, the presumption of non-imprisonment for a first offense of a crime of the third degree shall not apply, and a mandatory period of six months imprisonment shall apply.

NJ Legislators: Say 'NO!' To Tax And Fee Increases

New Jersey State Senator Carmen Amato, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf and Assemblyman Greg Myhre are calling on their legislative colleagues to withdraw support for the 41 taxes and fee increases that supporters hope will generate more than $2.7 billion in additional tax revenue for increases in state spending.

The 9th District Delegation issued the following statement:

“Unquestionably, the imposition of more than 40 tax and fee increases will have serious repercussions, most especially for taxpayers and businesses who have already reached their financial limits with soaring costs. They don’t want and can’t afford for their state government to double down on failed policies of tax and spend.

“We are warning constituents and letting them know that our delegation continues to fight against these fee and tax increases well in advance of the finalized state budget bill being prepared.

“Proposed tax and fee increases include a corporate transit fee that would lead to businesses paying $1 billion more in taxes, the costs of which will surely be passed down to consumers. Payroll taxes are set to increase by more than $800 million while an increase on HMO assessment would generate a whopping $83 million in tax revenues for Trenton’s already extreme spending policies.

“Commuters are set to pay more than $67 million more for toll hikes and $84 million in gas taxes. Our constituents are incensed by Trenton’s over-reliance on toll and gas tax increases which blatantly targets commuters in our area of the state where state public transportation has little to no presence.

“Gun owners are targeted for nearly $4 million in new firearm fees. Like many of our constituents who support the Second Amendment, we find it unconscionable that Trenton would use a citizen’s basic constitutional right as means to generate excess tax revenue.

“There’s no mistaking that supporters of the tax and fee increase see it only one way: How much tax revenue is generated for government spending while conveniently ignoring the very real financial hardships for those who actually have to pay.

“Our Delegation is committed to serving the interests of our constituents needing tax relief, not more taxes, fees and politicized spending. So much for making New Jersey more ‘affordable,’ as some Trenton officials claim to support but yet, at the same time, are more than willing to reach further into taxpayers’ wallets”.

No Warnings, No Guardrails, No Cushions, All Fun!

Once upon a time kids were allowed to be risk takers. They weren't raised in a bubble. And if their parents couldn't afford something such as this, well -- they improvised. They made scooters out of empty wooden boxes, discarded lumber and old roller skates, etc. They used their imagination. They invented playthings and games. Sometimes they fell or got hurt. It was all okay. They learned, they grew, they survived and were better for it.

Memorial Day: How Much Do You REALLY Know?

Think you know all about Memorial Day?

Think again!

It's Memorial Day weekend and we hope you're  having a great time.
This year Memorial Day is observed three days before the day's actual, traditional observance day, May 30.
This year, we hope that you take time to remember those who have protected us and who have made (and continue to make) our freedom possible. Because Memorial Day is all about those who gave their lives defending our country.  They made the ultimate sacrifice. In this way Memorial Day differentiates itself from Veterans Day which honors all veterans.

Now, let's get to the business at hand:

1) Not everyone will spend the long weekend at the Jersey shore. The media would have you believe that everyone is headed to the shore but that's just an easy way for the media to not report real stories over the weekend while at the same time nurturing the myth of the Great Shore Exodus. In fact, people enjoy the weekend in many different ways at many different places. We know we do -- and will.

2) Summer doesn't begin on Memorial Day. Summer begins on June 20, the summer solstice. And summer doesn't end on Labor Day. Summer ends on September 22 when autumn begins. The media and the travel industry concocted the idea that summer lasts from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It doesn't.

3) As we noted, Memorial Day is actually May 30. Congress changed the day around to make it a three-day weekend in another attempt to rob a fine holiday of its true meaning. So, Memorial Day is now the last Monday in May which means it can come as late as May 31 or as early as May 24. Leave it to the government to mess things up.

4) Memorial Day didn't become Memorial Day until 1966 when President Johnson officially renamed it. Prior to that it was widely known as Decoration Day - the day when Americans decorated the graves of the fallen. At it's core it's a somber day.

5) The artificial boundaries of Memorial Day and Labor Day mean absolutely nothing even though many people perceive these boundaries to coincide with the school year or with the summer season itself. Most children go to school well past Memorial Day. Many children (particularly in southern states) return to school well before Labor Day. Others return several days after Labor Day.

6) This year Memorial Day actually arrives close to the traditional date and Labor Day (the first Monday in September) is September 2. So, the stretch between the two is a bit less than average -- not the best news for vacation and travel vendors.

But, remember: Memorial Day isn't when people say it is. The summer hasn't begun - yet. It won't end on Labor Day. Many people will get through the whole summer without ever going to the Jersey shore. They will have a wonderful time nonetheless.

The Memorial Day and Labor Day boundaries are totally imaginary!

So, there you have it.
Enjoy what's left of spring.
And don't say "Happy Memorial Day" as the day is actually a solemn day set aside to remember and honor those who died defending our freedom. Pause. Reflect. Pay homage.
Then, go ahead and enjoy summer all the way through till September 22.
In fact, enjoy each day as a blessed gift. Savor every day, no matter the season.
Don't be cheated.
