Tight Squeeze For DeLuise

Late comedian Dom DeLuise never quite fit into the Hollywood mold.
DeLuise – who died this past Monday (May 4) – was known for being larger than life, which made his frequent appearances on Hollywood Squares quite challenging.
In 2002, DeLuise told FlashNews that the hardest part of being on the game show was fitting into the actual squares, which were so small he admitted, “You have to wiggle your way up!”
DeLuise revealed that the celebrity sitting in the center square “can’t stand up” because the space is so tiny, but still looked at the bright side of the gig, which included “lots of cold water and nice people who help write jokes for you.”
The comedian – who starred in flicks like Fatso and The Cannonball Run – was truly a king among famous fatties.
In 1995, a Dutch entrepreneur proposed a restaurant chain named “Obese City” which would honor the finest in famous fat people, including a mural dedicated solely to DeLuise.
