Lady Be Good: Encores, Tune Light Up The Night

If there is a better venue for musical theater than New York's City Center, we're not aware of it.
With the Encores series City Center has presented some of the best of vintage (and even more recent) musicals in a dazzling setting with first-rate production qualities, top casts and a wonderful orchestra.
Last night, we attended the final performance of their most recent offering, the Gershwin's Lady Be Good -- a show that boasts not only the title song but also Fascinating Rhythm, So Am I and I'd Rather Charleston. Ooohhh, that Gershwin music!
Standouts amidst the great cast included Danny Gardner, Patti Murin, Douglas Sills, Kirsten Wyatt and Jeff Hiller. And then there was the legendary Tommy Tune in a guest appearance marking his return to the Broadway stage after a very long absence.
We thought you'd like to see a clip from a positively stellar evening. Bravo, Encores!
