“Despite numerous news sources reporting on her lies, McGinty continues to stand by her statement that she was the first of her siblings to go to college, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. It’s becoming clear that Pennsylvanians simply cannot trust Katie McGinty. ” – PA GOP Communications Director Megan Sweeney
“According to commencement records, however, her brother, John McGinty, graduated from La Salle University, a four-year college, in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts. John P. McGinty’s LinkedIn account, which is no longer publicly accessible, also listed him as having attended La Salle from 1970 to 1973, after attending the Community College of Philadelphia from 1968 to 1970. “The issue is that her older brother John McGinty attended the Community College of Philadelphia from 1968 to 1970. He then transferred to, and graduated, from LaSalle University in 1973. He also apparently received his master’s in education from Temple University in 1978.

‘As Katie has said, she was the first in her family to attend and graduate from a four-year college,’ McGinty Campaign Spokesman Josh Levitt explained. ‘Her brother completed a two-year program then applied the credits to receive his bachelors.’.”
“The Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania has said on the campaign trail that she is the first in her family to go to college. But an online news site reports a brother graduated from college years before her.

“This is at least the third time she has been forced to clean up after statements opened the door to attacks on her honesty….It’s the kind of error that, repeated too often, can undermine even the most professionally staffed campaign.”
“In this campaign, she was caught once before, claiming not to have accepted campaign gifts from special interests:http://billypenn.com/2016/02/03/video-john-fetterman-says-katie-mcginty-lied-during-forum-has-taken-200k-from-oil-and-gas-industry...
