Pallotta Blasts Gottheimer On Border Security

New Jersey Republican Candidate for Congress Frank Pallotta released the following statement regarding the lifting of Title 42:

“Congressman Josh Gottheimer's inexplicable decision to support President Joe Biden in ending Title 42, is disingenuous, short-sighted, and dangerous. This administration, and his party’s total disregard for public health and safety as COVID has begun to spike outside our borders, is a slap in the face to any measure of public health and safety, and a cave in to far-left interests.

"Title 42 is the only mechanism at present preventing every illegal ‘crosser’ from being released within American communities. The abolition of Title 42 has been in the works since Democrats assumed total control of Washington, and it now appears to be a reality.  

"Since 2019 nearly a million Americans have died from COVID. And with increased outbreaks across the globe – most recently in China – preemptive measures should be our first line of defense in preventing another outbreak.

"Congressman Gottheimer's unwillingness to stand up for the more than 8,000 small businesses across the 5^th District that were forced to shut down makes this ill-advised decision by the Biden administration all the more dangerous. Moreover, it demonstrates his alignment with leftists, not suburban New Jerseyans. Our state currently has a dismal record in nearly every significant economic measure, from jobs to business growth to corporations leaving New Jersey. Democrats don’t care. They’d rather shut down more small businesses than take precautionary measures like keeping Title 42 in place. 

"Conservative estimates suggest approximately 1 million people will cross the border in the first 60 days following the removal of Title 42. It’s unconscionable that Congressman Gottheimer would do nothing to block that decision.

"Crossing our fingers appears to be the Democrat plan to address the inevitable influx of border crossers' predictable increase in COVID infection rates.  I only hope that Congressman Gottheimer will stand up to President Biden’s disastrous plan to lift Title 42. However, given the Congressman’s current record of voting with the President 100% of the time, the likelihood of pushback is close to slim and nil.”
