Durr: Beyond Shore Wind, What To Do Now

New Jersey State Senator Ed Durr (R-3) issued the following statement criticizing the Murphy administration for the rushed adoption of offshore wind after the foreign wind developer, Orsted, announced they were terminating their projects along the New Jersey Shore.

“Orsted’s announcement is a slap in the face to New Jersey taxpayers. Republicans warned about giving handouts to a foreign company while ratepayers were underwater paying for higher electric bills. Governor Murphy’s reckless energy policies hurt New Jersey families. His obsession with offshore wind has cost New Jersey jobs, raised energy bills for homeowners and renters, and put our coastline in further jeopardy.

Orsted’s announcement represents the failures of Governor Murphy’s extreme energy master plan. Now is the time for Republican leadership. We have an opportunity to focus on developing affordable, reliable, and clean energy sources like nuclear.”
