In yet another blow to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) announced it will not endorse a presidential candidate in 2024 — the second high profile union to snub their campaign in recent weeks following the Teamsters non-endorsement last month.
The IAFF was the first union to endorse Biden's 2020 campaign and has endorsed a Democrat in every presidential election since at least 1976 — except 2016, when they also made no endorsement.
The Harris-Walz campaign was clearly gunning for their support. Walz addressed their annual convention just weeks after he was nominated and Kamala gave them a "surprise drop-by" earlier this year, hoping to secure their eventual backing.
The news is already being panned as another humiliating defeat for Harris-Walz:
- Politico: "Kamala Harris suffered a blow Thursday as the union representing more than 300,000 career firefighters and emergency responders declined to make a presidential endorsement..."
- NBC News: "The news is a particular blow to Vice President Kamala Harris, since the union was the first to endorse Joe Biden's presidential bid in 2020."
- The Washington Post: "A blow to Democrats who had hoped for the group's support."
Kamala clearly has a BIG problem with rank-and-file workers across the country, who know her policies — such as a fracking ban, electric vehicle mandate, and other left-wing lunacy — would be devastating.
Workers also know President Trump and Senator JD Vance, the most pro-worker Republican ticket in history, have always had the backs of American workers — and always will.
