Video: Christie Kills Spider, Angers PETA

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie loves kids.
Some of his best moments come when he's answering questions from youngsters. So, Christie talks with elementary school students regularly and he welcomes questions from young people at his Town Hall meetings throughout New Jersey.
Recently, the governor was talking to a grammar school class in the Garden State when he was upstaged by a creepy, crawly, critter. The Governor does not like to be upstaged, even by a spider.
Yes, a single spider is enough to distract even the most attentive grade school class.
So, Christie did what any effective speaker would do: He eliminated the distractor. He killed the spider with his bare hand. Swat! It was dead!
Ingrid Newkirk, president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was not amused. She said Christie's act was "thoughtless." But then she added: “He probably did it without thinking. Some people put the spider outside, but spiders are often scary to people, and that can prevent them from pondering their worth.”
We say: Score one for Christie!
