Friendly Wager Leads To Delightful Result!

Residents of Saint John’s Hospice, a ministry of Catholic Social Services that seeks to assist and empower homeless men in the City of Philadelphia, will be the beneficiaries of two recent friendly wagers placed on the outcome of Super Bowl LII.

As announced previously, Archbishop Chaput of Philadelphia and Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston wagered a cash donation of $100 to benefit charitable Catholic ministries prior based on the outcome of the game. With the Eagles victory, Cardinal O’Malley will be sending funds to Saint John’s Hospice to bolster its outreach efforts. That check will arrive today.
