Panelists for the forum include James Caccamo, PH.D, an Associate Professor and Chair of Theology and Religious Studies at Saint Joseph’s University; Monsignor Dennis Mahon, Director at the Institute for Communication and Religion at Seton Hall University; and Joe Owens, Editor and General Manager at The Dialog in the Diocese of Washington.
A Mass will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Chapel followed by a ticketed dinner in the Seminary’s Eakins Room at 6:30 p.m.
At this time, two awards will be presented. The first is the Cardinal Foley Media Award for Excellence in Communications, which recognizes contributions to the world of mass media and social communications. This award will be given posthumously to Tim Russert, a journalist and lawyer who was the longest serving moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, and will be accepted by his son, Luke Russert.
The second award is the Foley Award in Social Communications, which will be presented to the winner of a short video competition that communicates the theme of the World Day of Communications. Entrants are young professionals ages 18-25.
