VIDEO: Broadway Lights Go Dark For Legend
Broadway's lights went dark for a full minute last night in memory of one of Broadway's greatest legends, Carol Channing. This is an honor only rarely accorded by the League of Broadway Theaters (The Broadway League) and if you look closely at the video, in the distance you can see an image of Channing on one of the far screens to the right. That was the only light left on among the many theaters along this strip just off Times Square.
Coincidentally, this occurred 55 years to the day since the opening of Hello, Dolly!
RIP, Carol Channing!
