1) There are second (and third!) acts in American life. The famous American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote that "there are no second acts in American lives." He has once again been proven wrong. You can emerge, later (or even very late) in life and achieve great things.
2) A setback is nothing more than a setup for a comeback. If you have the right attitude and refuse to be deterred, you can emerge from what seems like failure and turn it into the springboard for success.
3) Don't complicate things. Keep the goal that you have in mind clear and simple. In fact, if you can't sum it up in three or four words ("MAGA") it may not even be worth achieving.
4) No guts, no glory. If you're not willing to get out there and take a chance, you may never take the first daring steps you need to reach the top. Risk is part of the journey.
5) Trust your instincts. A famous philosopher once described instinct as the essence of common sense and, added that "enough of it is genius." We've just witnessed the power -- indeed, the supremacy -- of instinct.
Oh, and here's one more: You really can teach an old dog new tricks. You can learn and adapt , no matter how old or how set in your ways you may seem to be,. But, you must be a receptive student. Trump quickly adapted, using social media in new and innovative ways and reaching new groups of voters who had not previously been kindly disposed toward him. It can be done!
