Core de Roma (Heart of Rome) opened quite recently and it's a lovely, tasty addition to the Chester County (PA) dining scene.
The spacious dining room is nonetheless intimate -- beautiful by candlelight with sparkling glassware, crisp table coverings and gleaming flatware.
We're told that this eatery is part of a similarly named outpost on South Street in Philadelphia's Queen Village section. And their reputation is quite good.
Core de Roma bills itself as a casual, convivial, family owned trattoria, offering authentic Roman cuisine while upholding the best of Roman tradition. Some examples of their Roman delicacies include their signature Artichokes alla Core de Roma, Saltimbocca, and Bucatini alla Matriciana. On any given evening there are also five to ten house specials featuring the freshest ingredients of the season. The restaurant owners say their ultimate goal is "to make all of our customers feel like family through our cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and home-made dishes. At Core de Roma you can expect the true heart of Rome."
We must say that the management and staff went out of their way for us.
Everyone was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful at this convenient BYOB which provides plenty of free on-site parking.
