The "man of the people" will vacation in tres chic Mahhtha's Vineyahhhd on a swanky $7.6 million, 9.5-acre estate owned by one of Chicago’s wealthiest corporate financiers.
The lavish spread has ample ocean views and includes a pond, infinity pool and (of course) a basketball court. And, Obama & Co. have also booked 75+ rooms nearby (at nightly taxpayer-paid rates of up to $350) for staff. Go ahead, multiply all that out over seven nights and don't forget to include travel per diems and "ancillary" costs like the installation of extra cell phone towers, etc.
All this while the White House remains closed to ordinary visitors like you and I -- but still open to the fat cats and glitterati that the Obamas love to surround themselves with.
