Christie Campaign Launches Hispanics For Christie

Continuing to receive broad support from a diverse coalition of New Jerseyans from communities in every corner of the state, Governor Christie today announced the Hispanics for Christie coalition and unveiled its statewide leadership team. Hispanics for Christie is made up of an Executive Committee, Regional Representatives, County Chairmen in all twenty-one counties, as well as a Hispanic Clergy Advisory Council, serving as a liaison to hundreds of Hispanic clergy members from around the state who are supporting Governor Christie's reelection.

“It has always been incredibly important for me to ensure that everyone in our state has a voice and to make sure the strength of the diversity of our state is represented - in government and in our campaign. That's why I am so proud to have a group of our state's most accomplished and respected Hispanic leaders standing with me in this campaign," said Governor Christie. "This coalition means more than just a group of individuals supporting and working together with me for a political season - it is an extension of the work we have done together for years. Our efforts to build relationships with the Hispanic community on a foundation of dialogue and mutual respect is what today is about. I thank the dozens of individuals from across the state for strengthening those relationships and friendships today and look forward to our continued work together."

Governor Christie has made Hispanic outreach a key element of his reelection campaign, including the launch of a Spanish-language television ad in the Primary Election backed by a substantial $275,000 buy, maintaining a full-time Director of Hispanic Outreach, earning the support of key leaders in the community, and engaging in a bilingual voter contact and outreach effort to Hispanic voters up and down the state.
Governor Christie has been endorsed by the National Coalition of Latino Officers, the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, and elected officials representing communities with significant Hispanic populations, including the Union City Mayor, Senator Brian Stack, Harrison Mayor Ray McDonough, Harrison City Councilmembers Laurence M. Bennett, Jesus R. Huaranga, James Doran, Victor Villalta, Carol Mandagilo, Michael Dolaghan, Francisco Nascimento, Anselmo Millan, and Paterson City Councilman Anthony Davis.

“I cannot express how proud we are to represent Hispanics throughout the state and offer our support for Governor Christie in his campaign for reelection. This Governor has helped New Jersey make great strides over the past three and a half years and now it’s our turn to help secure another four years of his strong leadership and bold reform agenda to continue improving our state,” said Statewide Chairman Gil Medina. “We look forward to working hard to reach out to the many Spanish-speaking New Jerseyans, communicating the Governor's vision for our state, and getting them excited about the great things happening in New Jersey.”
