Governor Christie: We need to be vigilant. Remember that the Elizabeth incident was prevented by two citizens who saw something that they thought was strange, looked at it further and called the police.
I’d say to all New Jerseyans that now is not a time to be intimidated. Now, I know New Jersey doesn’t intimidate easily anyway, but I’ll tell you that it’s not a time to be intimidated.
We need to be on our guard, and we need to keep our eyes open, and we need to let law enforcement make the judgments about what is a real problem and what isn’t.
If you see something that you think is unusual, pick up the phone and call law enforcement. They’ll make the decisions from there.
