Today, the Rafferty for Pennsylvania Attorney General campaign held a successful press conference with Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan, Chester County Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh and local law enforcement announcing their strong support for John Rafferty for Attorney General.
Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said, “The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office needs to be a rock of integrity for law enforcement. Instead, for the last four years, we have seen the office used for politics, pettiness, and perjury. It is time to restore the confidence of the citizens of Pennsylvania in the Attorney General's Office. That is why it is my honor to endorse John Rafferty for Attorney General. John has the trust of law enforcement, the experience, and the integrity to lead this office.”
Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh offered, “In the State Senate, John Rafferty has been a champion for the law enforcement community and he is exactly who we want to serve as our next Attorney General. John Rafferty is running for Attorney General because he knows that an elected official’s number one priority is to ensure the public safety of our constituents. That is one of the many reasons I am proud to endorse John Rafferty for this critically important office.”
Les Neri emphasized that “Senator Rafferty has worked tirelessly for the law enforcement community and will continue to make protecting Pennsylvanians his top priority." The State Lodge has 107 subordinate lodges across the Commonwealth, and currently represents nearly 40,000 law enforcement members from Pennsylvania.
Chester County Republican Committee Chairman Val DiGiorgio added, “It is critical that we take politics out of the Office of Attorney General and I support John Rafferty’s efforts to do just that. We need a leader in that office that isn’t driven by a partisan agenda or their own political ambitions, but instead cares solely about serving the needs of their constituents. As our next Attorney General, John Rafferty will leave politics at the door by pledging to take his name out of the running for higher office and focus all of his attention on ensuring the public safety of all Pennsylvanians.”
John Rafferty concluded, “It is an honor to have the support of these honorable and dedicated public servants. Everyday they are devoting their time to ensuring the safety of our public. As our next Attorney General, I look forward to working alongside them to address the major issues facing our Commonwealth. From fighting the heroin epidemic to protecting consumers and stopping child predators, I will work with law enforcement at all levels to make our Commonwealth a safer place to live, work and raise our families.”
John Rafferty is the Republican nominee for Attorney General. As a state senator, John represents the 44th District, which includes parts of Montgomery, Chester and Berks counties. John previously served as a Deputy Attorney General where he worked in the Criminal Law Division in the Medicaid Fraud Unit. John’s campaign has been endorsed by a number of influential organizations, including the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association, the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), FOP Lodges 1, 7, 11, 14, 16, 27, 53 and 91, the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Scranton Firefighters, Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce, Laborers’ District Council of Western Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania Operators and Engineers.
