The goal of this program is for all participants to gain a common understanding of each tradition’s beliefs in a context of Christian fellowship and common prayer.
All are invited to participate in the free seven week study which will kick off with topics including, “Why commemorate the Reformation together?” as well as a historical sketch of the Reformation and Catholic response.

Topics include: Shared faith reflection on scripture and Luther’s understanding of the common priesthood of the baptized and the ordained office and a Catholic response.

Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. (Ecumenical Outdoor Prayer Service)
Location: Vernon Road
Members of both churches will meet on Vernon Road for common prayer and song with the sign of peace and a joint blessing.
Note: The Protestant Reformation is recognized to have begun in October 1517, when Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, prompting a schism from the Roman Catholic Church.
