In addition to the blessing, Anne H. Ayella, CRS Diocesan Director, Jeffrey Wallace, CRS Regional Manager, and Jacques Kabore, Partnership and Capacity Building Coordinator for CRS Burkina Faso, will illustrate how Rice Bowl touches people globally. Gloria Ayers, Saint Ignatius Parish’ Food Cupboard Coordinator, will offer details on the Saint Ignatius food cupboard, which serves those in need in West Philadelphia and is hosting this year’s kick-off.
This year’s Rice Bowl offers Catholic in the United States a way to respond to Pope Francis call to“Share the Journey” with migrants and refugees around the world. Share the Journey is a global public awareness campaign that aims to dispel fear and inspire communities to build relationships with those forced to leave their native lands due to violence, oppression, famine, and other hardships.
