After his sanctimonious meltdown yesterday, Senator Cory Booker can only be viewed as an aspiring fringe performance artist -- and not a very good one.
Perhaps this is what New Jersey's junior senator always secretly wanted to be -- a sort of sensationalist/performer. Of course, the entire event was designed to gain maximum attention and maximum media exposure. There's no question about that.
But it was sad nonetheless (and painful!) to watch.
