Here are two pictures of Sister Francis Piscatella, a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, New York. One picture is from the good old days, and the other one is a more recent one. She is 112.
Let's give this lovely sister some kind words for being the oldest nun in the world. She was born in Central Islip, New York on April 20, 1913. Her parents were immigrants from Italy.
She is one of a very small handful of people whose lifespan begins before World War I. Pope Leo is her ninth pope since Sister Francis became a member of her order in 1931. For decades, Sister Francis Piscatella immersed herself in the ministry of teaching, not retiring until she was 84.
