In response to news of Cuba’s brazen reluctance to extradite one of America’s Most Wanted murderers, Senator Joe Pennacchio continued his demands for President Barack Obama to demand that Cuba return New Jersey cop-killer Joanne Chesimard.
“Joanne Chesimard is a convicted sentence and escaped murderess, who led one of the most-gruesome slayings of a police officer and public servant,” Pennacchio said. “While she roams the streets of Cuba freely, that dictatorship jails 8,000 political prisoners just for expressing different opinions than their oppressive government. Our President must demand her return to U.S. soil.”
Last Thursday, Pennacchio and Morris County colleague Senator Anthony Bucco pushed a Senate Resolution for the return of Chesimard and, in turn, for our President to demand justice for New Jerseyans and Americans as he works to restore ties with Cuba.
