From Save Jersey by Matt Rooney (reposted with permission):
It’s happened again.
Only days after a congressional hearing in nearby Wildwood, New Jersey chaired by Congressional Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-02) into the impacts of offshore wind development AND a mere 66 days before Memorial Day Weekend 2023, no less than eight (!) dolphins washed ashore at a popular Sea Isle City beach on Tuesday.
“The city is aware that dolphins have washed up on the 50th and 52nd Street Beaches,” the city’s Facebook page confirmed shortly before 1 p.m. “Please do not approach them. Marine Mammal Stranding Center is on the way.”
Two of the stranded dolphins reportedly died on the sand but rescuers were working frantically into the afternoon to keep the remaining six alive while experts were still en route:
In case you missed it, Congressman Van Drew joined me on 1210 WPHT on Sunday to address his efforts to investigate the suspected link between whale and dolphin deaths and offshore wind exploration.
