The REAL Andy Kim: Radical, Far Left, Reckless!

With news reports of eight men from Tajikistan with potential ties to ISIS arrested over the weekend in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, Curtis Bashaw, New Jersey Republican candidate for United States Senate, released the following statement:

“Every New Jerseyan deserves to feel safe and secure in their homes and communities. In Joe Biden’s America, that principle which is enshrined in our founding documents is now a far-fetched reality.

"I was recently at our southern border a few weeks ago, and I watched first-hand as individuals walked right across the porous border into Arizona from Mexico. It’s a national security nightmare and a humanitarian crisis of Joe Biden’s own making.

"Andy Kim not only supports Joe Biden’s policies, he’s on record stating that he does not believe our border needs to be closed. That’s reckless and dangerous.

"Inexplicably, Andy Kim was also one of only 34 members of Congress in the entire country and the only member of the NJ delegation to vote against the bipartisan ‘No Paydays for Hostage Takers Act’, a bill which allows the US government to hold hostage takers and terrorists accountable. The bill specifically targets the Iranian Regime, the leading sponsor of terrorism worldwide.

"I’m truly baffled why Andy Kim would not vote with 391 of his colleagues to ensure terrorists who take American citizens hostage are punished for their crimes, and not rewarded with financial incentives.

"His words and his record are clear. Andy Kim is a far-left extremist Congressman who does not prioritize keeping our country safe or protecting America from terrorists.”

According to the bill sponsors’ press release, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) and Jared Moskowitz (D-FL):

This legislation deters the Government of Iran, other hostile governments, and individuals from hostage-taking or wrongfully detaining United States nationals by imposing sanction and other strict penalties. Among the actions listed in the bill is the requirement of the President to deny visas for anyone seeking admission to the United States as a representative to the United Nations who is sanctioned under terrorism or weapons of mass destruction proliferation Executive Orders. The legislation also requires the Administration to review all cases of hostage-taking regarding Iran and determine if foreign persons responsible for hostage-taking meet the criteria for sanctions under the Robert Levinson Hostage Recovery and Hostage-Taking Accountability Act.

"The Iranian Regime continues to be the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. This bill takes action, ensuring terrorists who take American citizens hostage are punished for their crimes, and not rewarded with financial incentives. It ensures that the oppressors of freedom in Iran do not get to visit the United States to enjoy the liberties here that they deprive their citizens of at home in Iran. Mass murderer and terrorist Ebrahim Raisi hates the United States, pledges death to America, yet applies and is granted to travel to New York annually for the United Nations, this hypocrisy is unacceptable," said Rep. Wilson.
