Joe Biden campaigned on a promise to unite the nation, but his speech earlier this month in Philadelphia has Americans divided.
In his September 1 speech, Biden said: “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic." The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 48% of likely U.S. voters agree with that quote, including 36% who strongly agree. Forty-seven percent (47%) disagree with Biden’s slam on “MAGA Republicans,” including 39% who strongly disagree. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on September 6-7, 2022 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
