As Gas Prices Creep Higher, Hold Dems Accountable!

Ohhhh . . . how it hurts when the shoe is on the other foot.
With gas prices actually reaching five dollars a gallon in some parts of the country, President Obama and the Democrats want to run and hide -- or at least pretend it isn't happening.
But they were the first ones to scream "foul" and blame the GOP and George W. Bush when gas prices crept up to only three dollars a gallon. It's true!
In 2007, when the average national price ranged from $2.17 to $3.22, then-Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., demanded that the Federal Trade Commission investigate Big Oil for “price manipulation.” He screamed bloody murder.
In 2008, presidential candidate Obama urged the Justice Department “to open an investigation into whether energy traders have been engaged in illegal activities that have helped drive up the price of oil and food.” Again, he blamed the GOP and Big Oil.
On April 22, 2006, USAToday.com posted an article with the headline “Democrats blame Bush for high gas prices.”
But now?
Well, the Dems are as silent as this year's Best Picture Oscar winner. Nothing. No investigations. No outrage. Nada.
Here's the cold, hard truth: The silence over the recent price run-up is an example of left-wing hypocrisy.
They enjoyed bludgeoning Bush but now that it’s on Obama’s watch they are silent, silent, silent.

Hypocrisy runs deep on all sides. Democrats and Republicans are as guilty as each other--the GOP which said the Presdient (when it was Bush) was not responsible who now say Obama is are every bit as guilty as the other side.

If we limit candidates to those who haven't taken politically advantageous positions--like, oh, say, calling views progressive when it helped win election in a generally blue state--then we'd have virtually no one running. All major candidates--Obama, Romney, Santorum and Gingrich--are guilty of such double speak. It's all well and good to be held accountable, but how about holding BOTH sides accountable?

Now let's see if such a horrible dissenting view may be left to stand. :)
