In the midst of economic bad times Oscar will play it safe tonight turning it gold-domed head inward (celebrating the the essence of the movies as exemplified by their earliest years) and backward (into the 1920s, 30s and the 50s and 60s). This will be retro night at the Oscars and Hollywood will finally (and justifiably) pay homage to the Silent Era when The Artist wins Best Picture.
The other Oscars will go to Jean Dujardio (Best Actor) for The Artist, Viola Davis (Best Actress) for The Help. Supporting Oscars will go to Christopher Plummer for Beginners and Octavia Spencer for The Help.
Director Michael Hazenavicius will win for The Artist.
It will be a big night for The Artist which will also take home awards for Best Original Score and Best Editing.
This will be a night for remembering the history and the glory of the movies. And Hugo will also receive several awards including Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction and Best Sound Mixing.
