Emphasizing New Jersey's successful efforts in business retention and growth, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno today joined officials from GENEWIZ, Inc. to mark the company’s 15th anniversary during a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new 11,000 square foot administrative facility.

Kim Guadagno. “That’s why our Administration is committed to putting programs and policies in place that offer a nurturing environment where innovative companies like GENEWIZ can build successful businesses, create jobs and flourish globally. Congratulations to GENEWIZ on their 15th anniversary and their decision to remain and grow in New Jersey. We look forward to their continued advancements in genomic science.”
Founded by DNA researchers, Steve Sun and Amy Liao, GENEWIZ, Inc. is a global contract research organization (CRO) specializing in genomic services, including DNA sequencing, gene synthesis, molecular biology, genomic, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulatory-compliant services. The company leads the industry in research sequencing and outsourcing partnerships with pharmaceutical, clinical, biotechnology, academic, and government institutions.

The biotech company began as a start-up and is a graduate of the state’s Commercialization Center for Innovative Technologies (CCIT). CCIT provides service, support and resources for new and existing small businesses whose success will be significant to the growth and diversification of New Jersey’s economic base.
GENEWIZ, Inc. received state tax incentives that allowed the company to stay and expand administrative and laboratory operations in South Plainfield creating approximately 30 new jobs. The increased space includes a clean suite to provide services in the areas of biologic drug and cell bank characterization testing, clinical trial investigations and clinical diagnostic testing.
