The Philadelphia Freedoms are offering fans the unique opportunity to see world class tennis players, including Victoria Azarenka, Andy Roddick, and Venus Williams, in affordable family fun this summer at the Villanova University Pavilion, beginning with the first serve on Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m.
“The atmosphere at these games is unlike anything you have seen at a typical tennis match,” said Philadelphia Freedoms General Manager Barbara Perry. “The Villanova Pavilion is the only place where Philadelphia sports fans will be able to see world-class tennis played in this unique coed team format at an affordable price.”
Highlighting the Freedoms' 15th season of Mylan World TeamTennis (WTT), is the appearance of Grand Slam Champion and current World No. 4 ranked singles player Azarenka, who will compete for the Freedoms on Tuesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. Seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Williams will represent the visiting Washington Kastles on Thursday, July 17 at Villanova University Pavilion; and U.S. Open champion Roddick will represent the Austin Aces on Monday, July 21, also at the Pavilion.
In an effort to attract families to an affordable night out with these premiere tennis athletes, the Freedoms offer a Family Pack which includes four tickets (two adults and two children), four hot dogs, four sodas or waters and four bags of chips at $79. In addition, the team Is excited to announce this season’s lineup of exciting theme nights. These include "Girls Night Out" on Wednesday, July 16 when the Freedoms host the Springfield Lasers at 7 p.m. The special Girls Night Out package includes a special appearance by hometown hero Lisa Raymond in the Girls Night Out party plus live music from country pop singer/songwriter Kirsten Sowers, a special menu from Winnie’s LeBus Manayunk, complimentary wine from Pinnacoli and Zaccagnini and desserts from Sweet Street Desserts.
The Freedoms will host Kids and Family Night on Friday, July 18, when they take on the Boston Lobsters at 7 p.m. This special night includes a celebration of Freedoms mascot Nettie King’s first birthday plus appearances by Ronald McDonald and the Geico gecko. In addition, the first 250 children 14 years of age and under will receive a free junior tennis racquet.
The Freedoms will host a Philadelphia 76ers and Military Appreciation Night on Tuesday, July 22. The Sixers high-flying Flight Squad and dynamic Dream Team dancers will be in attendance to pump up the crowd and give away Sixers freebies throughout the match. Sixers alumni will also be on hand to participate in a halftime celebrity tennis match as well as hold an autograph session. In addition to the Sixers promotions, the Freedoms will honor the men and women of our armed forces with Military Appreciation Night. When the Freedoms face the Boston Lobsters at 7 p.m. that night, active and retired military personnel who show photo ID at the box office will receive $10 off all tickets purchased.
The Freedoms will host "Guys Night Out" on Wednesday, July 23, when they take on conference rivals the Washington Kastles at 7 p.m. The special Guys Night Out package features a “guy-themed” menu from Winnie’s LeBus, desserts from Sweet Street Desserts and complimentary beer from Yards Brewing Company.
