Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this seventh anniversary of one our country's worst tragedies. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends andloved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fightingat home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed inAmerican flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stoodshoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity.
Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds

Even terrorism perpetrated by us? The flag is a symbol of American and universal values. Values that have been hijacked by a President that has eroded our basic rights, and has killed thousands of innocent civilians. Every 9/11 that passes, I think back to 2001, and the reasons that prompted me to join the Army. Now, a few years later, I find myself asking WHY we were attacked. I'm not sure that "the terrorists hate our freedom" is the whole picture. And I'm certain that every September 11th should be spent remembering the sacrifice of those who died, and the pain their families endure. But we should also strive to make sure that it never happens again. I'n just not sure that killing people all over the globe is a way to get there.
