Well, That's Really Been The Plan All Along!

"We cannot expect Americans to jump from capitalism to communism but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly find out they have communism."
~ Nikita Khrushchev,
Russian Premier, 1958-1964

Hmmm . . .Have You Forgotten About THIS?

The democrats have proven time and time again that they don't really want to fix immigration!

WARNING: Don't Muzzle Rural Legislators!

Tuesday, Pennsylvania Republican Party Chairman Val DiGiorgio was joined by Sen. Pat Stefano and Rep. Jesse Topper to talk about Tom Wolf and PA Democrats using the Right to Know Law to try and silence rural legislators from speaking about the Governor’s disastrous education funding plan that would cut $1.2 billion from 362 rural and already-struggling school districts.
In total, at least nine rural legislators—who have been vocal in the press about their opposition to the plan—have received Right to Know requests to see if there has been any coordinated messaging.
“Using the Right to Know Law as a shield like this is a sad attempt by the Governor’s campaign and the PA Democrats to try and distract from the fact that the Governor supports a plan that would immediately cut $1.2 billion from 362 rural and already-struggling school districts,” said Chairman DiGiorgio.
“The use of the Right to Know Law in this way is particularly hypocritical given the Governor has chosen secrecy over transparency time and time again, using the transparency law to shield public documents from disclosure.”
In the past, Tom Wolf’s administration has hidden behind the Right to Know Law to shield documents related to the Amazon incentive package, Congressional redistricting litigation, and Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program.
The Governor has also kept secret a report by the Inspector General into wrongdoing by Lt. Gov. Mike Stack and has not divulged by former Secretary of State Pedro Cortes was asked to leave the administration.
Sen. Stefano, one of the legislators who has received a Right to Know request, said he would not be intimidated into silence.
“The counties I represent stand to lose over a combined $100 million from the Governor’s disastrous education funding plan. I will not be bullied into silence or intimidated into not speaking up on behalf of my rural school districts, and the students they serve,” he said.
Rep. Topper, who represents a district whose counties would see an aggregate loss of $25.4 million to its school districts, added Gov. Wolf’s education funding plan is the latest in the Governor leaving rural Pennsylvania behind.
“I was shocked to hear the Governor’s education funding plan and learn of the effects it would have in my district,” he said. “From proposing job-killing taxes to creating an onerous regulatory environment, this is just the latest example of Tom Wolf not wanting to see rural Pennsylvania succeed.”
Earlier this month, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania launched www.tomwolfcutsschools.comto highlight the impact of the Governor’s proposed education funding plan.

THIS Is Why We Have An Electoral College, OK?

Defying The Law; Standing With Violent Criminals

Last week, the City of Philadelphia and Mayor Jim Kenney made the decision to terminate a data-sharing contract with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
This is the latest in the city’s turn toward lawlessness as it seeks to further enact sanctuary city policies. Also, by their silence and past actions, it is the latest indication that Pennsylvania’s Democratic leaders continue to support sanctuary city policies and the move toward ending the rule of law when it comes to immigration.
In response, Val DiGiorgio, Chairman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, made the following statement:
“By ending the contract with ICE, Philadelphia’s mayor has once again shown he would rather side with violent criminals who have taken advantage of our country than with the men and women he is supposed to be protecting.
“The same can be said for Gov. Tom Wolf and Sen. Bob Casey who, through their support of sanctuary city policies and campaigning with those who support the abolishment of ICE, put Pennsylvanians in danger and support lawlessness over the rule of law."

There's That 'Ole Double Standard Again!

So, Obama throws a reporter out -- that's just fine.
But Trump? Nah! He can't ask anyone to leave. or even suggest such a move. All he has to do is respond and he's immediately excoriated.
If you can't see the double standard, you must be blind.
And how about Obama calling the White House "my house".
What the hell was that all about?

They Said It Couldn't Be Done -- Sure!

They are the naysayers.

The no-can-doers.

Deceased Saint's Remains To Be Transferred!

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia today announced that the sacred remains of Saint Katharine Drexel will be transferred from the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament Motherhouse and Shrine in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia this summer. The new location for Saint Katharine Drexel’s tomb will open to the public in September 2018 following the completion of the newly constructed Cathedral tomb.

In addition to the relocation, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia also announced several new programs to promote the life, work, and witness of Saint Katharine Drexel. These programs include school-based lesson plans, an online and television documentary, a newly-launched website hosted by the Cathedral Basilica (www.catherdal.org), new social media sites, and a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated by Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap on Sunday, November 18, 2018. The construction and communications program are generously underwritten by a grant from the Connelly Foundation.

“The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament have once again given the faithful of the Archdiocese a tremendous gift,” said Reverend Dennis Gill, Rector and Pastor of the Cathedral Basilica. “With the new opportunity to honor Saint Katharine at the Cathedral, even more people will be exposed to her extraordinary life and example. It is our fervent hope that others will be inspired and continue her important work among Native Americans and African Americans.”

“Saint Katharine’s message is as relevant today as it was 125 years ago,” said Sister Donna Breslin, President of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. “She is a contemporary saint and we continue to pray to her for an end to racism and other deeply rooted injustices.”

“The Connelly Foundation’s support for this project comes from reverence and respect for a truly outstanding Philadelphian, who gave totally of herself to help others,” said Josephine C. Mandeville, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Connelly Foundation. “Her life and her mission are inspiring. The Connelly Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to assist in creating a permanent resting place for this very special Philadelphia saint.”

Saint Katharine Drexel was canonized on October 1, 2000. She is the second American-born person ever to be canonized. Born into tremendous wealth as part of the Drexel family, she gave up her life of privilege to found the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1891. She dedicated her life to serve the needs of African Americans and Native Americans, and inspired so many women, who joined the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, to follow her example. Today, the Sisters continue to serve in elementary and secondary schools, as well as at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, the first Black Catholic university in the U.S. They are also involved in a variety of other services including pastoral and spiritual ministries, social services, counseling, religious education, and health care, primarily but not exclusively among Black and Native American peoples.

In May 2016 the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament announced their decision to sell the Motherhouse property where the current shrine is housed, along with other property in Virginia. At that time the Sisters asked the Archdiocese to consider creating a sacred space for Saint Katharine’s remains. Earlier this year, the Archdiocese agreed to create a new space for her tomb at the Cathedral Basilica.

This new tomb will be immediately adjacent to the Drexel altar donated by the Drexel family decades ago.

He's Just Fine, OK? And She's Spectacular!

OK.
So, here's a recent photo of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his super gorgeous and sexy wife, Gisele.
We're pleased they're enjoying themselves and seem to be in love.
And we say that even though we aren't Patriots fans. Still, we do recognize Brady's talents and we also recognize that his wife reportedly earns even more than he does as she is an international super model.
What a couple!
Anyway, people are criticizing Brady for being out of shape.
They're saying he has a "dad bod" and not the toned body of the man who's been called one of America's finest athletes.
Hey, Tom Brady will be 41 years old next week. He's played in the NFL for sixteen seasons during which he's quarterbacked the Patriots to eight Super Bowl appearances, the most for any player in history. His completion percentage is an astounding 63.9% and he's completed 5.629 passes.
Obviously, he taken some mighty hits and falls over his career.
Whether you like him or not, whether you're a fan of the Patriots or not, we think you'd have to admit that, all things considered, Tom Brady looks just fine. And, we congratulate him on his incredible success.
And, this too: It's refreshing to see an athlete without any obvious tattoos!

The Base Is Solid: Trump Reaches New High!

Big Media won't tell you this but we will
The latest polls show President Trump with one of the highest approval ratings (from his own party) of any president in more than 40 years!
Trump has strong, solid, motivated support from his base and this is a good sign going into the midterms because it means the GOP will be united and ready.
Meanwhile, Democrats are being torn apart by a growing radical socialist element.
And independents? Well, the booming economy and super low jobless numbers have them leaning toward Trump.

You Can Make Up Your Own Mind About This!

This Not-To-Be-Missed Event Is A Bargain!

Cape May Jazz Vespers Concert featuring singer/songwriter/guitarist Gina Roché accompanied by Jim Ridl on keyboards will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May on August 5th at 8 pm. For more information and directions visit www.capemayjazzvespers.com or call 609.846.3979. Advance tickets not necessary. A $10 minimum donation is requested; wheelchair accessible.

GINA ROCHÉ, known for her exciting live performances, imbues a Brazilian twist into her unique blend of pop, jazz, blues and singer/songwriter originals. Gina has toured Wales, England, Japan, the U.S., The Grand Cayman Islands and Aruba and performed on Good Morning America and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Gina began singing, writing songs and playing guitar when she was 16. Very soon her talent was noticed by local musicians. “I auditioned for a pop/R&B group and was thrilled when I got the job. I spent the next two years performing in nightclubs in the Philly area.”

Her interest in music from other countries emerged early. “I heard a few Latin tunes on the radio and was just knocked out! It wasn’t long before I was on a plane.” During her time performing in the Caribbean, Gina found a special connection to the music of the Islands and Brazil. “I fell in love with music of Brazil: Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dori Caymmi, Djavan, Joao Gilberto and Elis Regina.” These influences are very noticeable on Gina’s two critically acclaimed CD releases, “Dawning of A New Way”, and “Thankfully”.

More recently Gina has been performing as leader of her own group and touring throughout the U.S. Gina appeared in concert with her group celebrating Women Singers and Songwriters for her annual Mother’s Day Event, followed by her tribute to the music of Frank Sinatra in her show “Let’s Be Frank” which will be performed in another concert venue in the near future.

She often plays with her quintet, but also performs in duos and solo. Whatever the group’s makeup, Gina always delivers a heartfelt and memorable musical experience. As two Jazz periodicals have about Ms. Roché:

"...an individualistic and compelling singer." ~All About Jazz.

"Gina Roché is what makes the listener sit up and take notice." ~ Jazz News

Performing with Gina will be master pianist JIM RIDL. Jim is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and teacher residing in the New York City area. He performs internationally with the Jim Ridl Trio and Quartet, the Dave Liebman Big Band, the Mingus Big Band, Ximo Tebar’s IVAM Jazz Ensemble of Spain, and the Tim Horner Quintet. Jim’s sixth CD, Jim Ridl’s Blue Corn Enchilada Dreams, features the outstanding soloists Terell Stafford, Donald Edwards, and John Benitez in an inspired quartet setting.

Additionally, Jim has performed and/or recorded with a large array of world-class musicians. Among them have been Randy Brecker, Marc Johnson, James Moody, Slide Hampton, Clark Terry, Mickey Roker, Billy Hart, Mark Murphy, Ravi Coltrane, the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band, to name just a few.

The following review from AllAboutJazz summarizes Jim’s playing and composing:

"...an innovative force in jazz, a pianist of the highest caliber, a creative composer and improviser, and one of those rare musicians who stretches the art form even as he honors the established traditions." AllAboutJazz

Together, Roché and Ridl are a musical powerhouse. They can lift you up and carry you away on a musical carpet, woven from the best Brazilian yarns.
