The new Museum is one of the great joys of the Philadelphia region.
If you haven't been there (with or without children) you're missing a singular treasure.
Please Touch has taken a grand old building from Philadelphia's 1876 Centennial Exposition and turned it into an interactive gingerbread house that children of all ages can enjoy.
Please Touch is exactly what it says it is: A place where every exhibit is meant to be touched, explored, enjoyed. You'll find an original, beautifully restored carousel, a full-size recreation of Lady Liberty's torch made entirely of reclaimed toys, the old Toyland monorail from Wanamaker's department store, a SEPTA bus and the ever-popular child-sized supermarket, among other attractions.
Please Touch is a celebration of play.
And unstructured, spontaneous play is vital to learning, growth, socialization and development.
