Claude Levi-Strauss had nothing to do with jeans, except maybe he wore them from time to time. Levi-Strauss was a preeminent French anthropologist and father of the school of structural anthropology.

"Prince of Darkness" the Novack autobiography is a great book! I don't think I ever realized the part he played in the history of our country.
