Over at the Washington Post Chris Cillizza is writing that Romney's VP choice will have to be a fiscal conservative -- and someone who self-proclaimed conservatives clearly identify as a conservative.
Cillizza points to history and says this has been the pattern for Republicans. The nominee always seeks out ideological purity.
So, he figures that this means the nominee will be one of three people: Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal or New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
I'm not so sure about this exceptionally short list.
I think there will be a lot more qualified conservatives in the mix.
But I do think the nominee will be right of center -- though not necessarily far right.
Right now, I'm betting on Rubio.
