Rugby Sevens teams from Drexel University, St. Joseph’s University, Temple University, and University of Pennsylvania will showcase their skills at a massive pep rally by demonstrating scrums, lineouts and additional rugby stunts on Drexel’s campus on Wednesday May 21 at 11:30 AM at 33rd and Market Sts. outside Drexel's rec center.. This event is being held in anticipation of the 2014 USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championship taking place at PPL Park in Chester, PA, on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1.
The Collegiate Rugby Championship features America’s future rugby Olympians as twenty of the top rugby teams in the country compete in forty-four matches across two action packed days at PPL Park on Saturday, May 31 through Sunday, June 1. Six local teams, including Drexel University, Kutztown University, University of Pennsylvania, Penn State University, Saint Joseph’s University and Temple University, will compete alongside University of Arizona, UCLA, Dartmouth, Life University, University of Maryland, University of Michigan, Navy, Northeastern University, Notre Dame, University of South Carolina, University of Texas, Virginia Tech, and the Big 10 champion to bring home the coveted Pete Dawkins trophy.
