GOVENOR CHRISTIE PROMOTES SUMMER AT THE SHORE WITH BEACH & BOARDWALK STOP IN ASBURY PARK –
Last Friday, Governor Chris Christie finished the week with a beach and boardwalk stop in Asbury Park to promote shore tourism and the remaining summer season. Governor Christie was joined by Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin to specifically discuss the Governor’s efforts to keep New Jersey’s beaches and waterways clean along the state’s 127 miles of coastline. LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR GUADAGNO SIGNS LIFESAVING BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION –
Acting Governor Kim Guadagno on Wednesday signed into law bipartisan legislation that will require high school students to receive hands-on CPR and AED training. In an effort to help prevent the tragic loss of life from sudden cardiac arrest, this new law will equip students with critical information and skills that can make a difference to help save lives. The bill was signed at Burlington Township Middle School, where, in June, a collapsed student was revived by staff members trained in both CPR and AED use. School nurse Nancy Andorko, one of those who helped the student, spoke at the bill signing.

Last week Governor Christie accepted the ALS #IceBucketChallenge from Scott O’Neil of the New Jersey Devils and nominated New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg, and The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon with a little help from his kids Patrick & Bridget. Click below to watch!
 

LT.  GOVERNOR GUADAGNO AND CABINET MEMBERS ACCEPT ALS #ICEBUCKETCHALLENGE 
Lt. Gov. Kim Gudagno and the rest of Governor Christie’s cabinet got soaked on the steps of the State House Wednesday afternoon to raise awareness about ALS and honor a member of their team battling the illness. Lt. Gov. Guadagno was first challenged by Assemblywoman Donna Simon and a former State House intern. On Wednesday, the Lt. Governor received her third nomination from Robert Czech, chairman of the state Civil Service Commission. Czech, who has ALS and was on site to issue the challenge. Before the Lt. Governor completed her challenge, she also nominated Christie Administration Cabinet members, who joined her to get soaked on the State House steps.
