Philadelphia's Fleisher Art Memorial will present its 26th annual Founder's Award on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, to faculty member Louise Clement-Hoff.
The Founder's Award recognizes individuals whose significant commitment to providing access to the arts, promoting excellence in creative expression, and enriching Philadelphia's cultural resources reflects the values of our founder, Samuel S. Fleisher.
Since 1954, Louise Clement-Hoff has been a beloved instructor of figure drawing, still life composition, sculpture, and painting at Fleisher. A renowned painter and educator who has also taught at the Hussian School of Art, Woodmere Art Museum, and West Chester University, Louise is likely best known for teaching oil painting to countless parents of children enrolled in Fleisher's Saturday Young Artists Program.
Louise has been honored with an impressive retrospective exhibition that surveyed 20 years of her work at the McKinney Gallery of West Chester University. Additionally, she received a Fred & Naomi Hazell Faculty Fellowship at Fleisher and was included in the Senior Artists Initiative exhibition at the Woodmere Art Museum. Louise has also shown her paintings at the Hahn Gallery and Atlantic City Art Center.
All proceeds from the Founder's Award celebration support Fleisher's award-winning art education programs and exhibits. For sponsorship and ticket information, contact Melissa Phegley, Director of Development, at 215-922-3456 ext. 318 or mphegley@fleisher.org.
