Preparing To Welcome 'A Current Of Grace'

Reverend Gerald Dennis Gill, Rector of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and Director of the Archdiocesan Office for Divine Worship, will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the Pentecost Mass for the Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR). Pentecost marks the conclusion of the 50 day Easter season celebrating our Lord’s resurrection. The CCR will use this occasion as part of its preparation for the Charismatic Renewal Jubilee Year of 2017.

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement invites all people to experience the Holy Spirit, who opens us to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and the love of God the Father. The CCR is a conduit to the ongoing action of the Holy Spirit in our lives to bring us into a closer relationship with Jesus. It is both a search for personal holiness and a means to share our talents and gifts with others in order to build up the Body of Christ.

As Pope Francis has said, “You, Charismatic Renewal, have received a great gift from the Lord. You were born of the will of the Spirit as a current of grace in the Church and for the Church. This is your definition: a current of grace.”
