This Staggering Series Of FACTS Will Stun You !

In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling for each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his blackout to avoid glare and made him take it off.

In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.

In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.

In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing Find the Cure eye black for breast cancer awareness.

In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem.......

In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty.

In 2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

YET:

In 2017 the NFL looks the other way and does nothing as players take a knee in disrespect or raise a militant clenched fist during the National Anthem of the United States of America.

In 2017, when a Pittsburgh Steeler, who has served his country in the military, came out of the tunnel to salute his flag he was ostracized by his coach and teammates with such locker room pressure that he was forced to apologize for honoring his country!

in 2017, when the crowd at opening day at Gillette Stadium booed the players' unpatriotic action the network cutaway to commercial and it was not referenced. Later, the babbling blabbers of sports talk treated the crowd as pariahs for not linking arms with the players disrespecting the flag of their country.

Until the public expresses displeasure by withholding its money, nothing will be done:
  • Owners need to be aware of how real Americans feel by seeing declining box office revenues and voters rejecting taxpayer-funded stadia and other public subsidies.
  • Sponsors need to be aware of how real Americans feel by hearing directly from consumers explaining why they won't purchase their products or services.
  • Players need to be aware of how real Americans feel by not having their NFL merchandise purchased nor worn in public.
As entertaining as it can be, it is JUST A GAME and not the final arbiter of what makes America great.
Remember that Romans attended the gladiator bouts in a packed coliseum during the waning period of its civilization. not the ascending.
