In some of his rhetoric he attempted to minimize the threat of the virus on the basis of some of the early reports we were getting from WHO and others.
But, at the same time, (always skeptical and assuming nothing) he took bold, decisive action to protect us from the virus beginning with the foreign travel bans that went into effect at the end of January and beginning of February. This was followed by other, unprecedented, stringent actions now confirmed by everyone who was there, in the room where it happened.
Hoping for the best; he continued to prepare us for the worst. Why is this so hard for some people to understand?
