Justice Alito ordered county elections officials in Pennsylvania to keep separate mail-in ballots that arrived after Election Day. The state’s top elections official said she already had ordered those ballots be kept apart but state Republican Party officials seemed t dispute this.
Justice Alito's order came Friday night in response to a plea from the state Republican Party as Biden appeared to be inching ahead of President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania in the presidential race -- a race in which Trump once led by a seemingly insurmountable 700,000 votes.
This could be the beginning of a more extensive involvement of the Supreme Court in the ongoing election dispute.
