Super Tuesday: Ten Big Takeaways . . .

So, Super Tuesday is over. No big surprises.

But there are some major takeaways, so let's get right to them:

1) It's Trump's Party now and his people have moved into (or soon will be moving into) every key role. The GOP is all Trump's, just as it would be for any presumptive nominee. This is a fact of political life and those who pretend it isn't aren't living in the real world.

2) Mitch McConnell may be an old crow but he isn't dumb and he is, in fact living in the real world. He has just endorsed Trump saying his endorsement "should surprise no one." That's what real Republicans do -- they band together and unite behind the people'e choice.  Yes, McConnell is in fact living in the real world. Please take note.

3) Nikki Haley is playing hard to get or she's stubbornly got her back up or she's angling for a key post. In fact, all three of these can be true. Our hope is that the man who wrote "The Art of The Deal" will find a way to handle not just Haley but most of the others within his own party who ran against him and failed.

5) Did you catch those numbers out of Minnesota? A significant 30% of Democrats there refused to vote for Biden. Nineteen percent chose "uncommitted" and the rest picked other minor candidates. And this happened in a couple of other states as well -- double digits didn't pick Biden. Bad news for Biden!

6) In California, Republicans are buoyed by the impressive performance of beloved former baseball great Steve Garvey who's now in a real live battle for the state's senate seat against pencil head Adam Schiff. In that's state's "jungle primary" Garvey easily won the right to take on showy Schiff and is now breathing down Schiff's neck!

7) Biden is now the first incumbent president to lose a primary in 44 years. Forty-four years! OK, it happened in American Samoa. But it's still true!

8) The excitement, the suspense and the Big Story ahead is all now on the Republican side and it is this: Who will Trump pick as his vice presidential running mate. Count on Trump to milk this for every drop he can get out of it. The hype will be justifiably astronomical!

9) The latest average of polls show Trump with 251 electoral votes -- just 19 short of the number he needs to be elected. The map shows just four swing states up for grabs: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada -- all too close to call. Winning Pennsylvania would bring him to the magic number, 270. Barring that, Wisconsin and Arizona would do it. Keep your eye on Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Right now, those two states are the key to unlocking the vault.

10) Coming off Trump's Big Night the Democrats have now shifted strategy again. The latest plan? "Let Biden be Biden." They want Biden to go rouge and taunt Trump by going for the jugular. As this seems to be all they've got right now (and it's very risky) this shows you just how desperate they really are. Unleash Biden? Watch out! Gramps got outta the shore house and is on the loose! 😄

Oh, and one final thing: After his sour performance on Fox News last night Karl Rove oughta pack it in. He's history.
