A Rare Find - And Now It Can Be YOURS!

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Ella Fitzgerald’s birthday on April 25, 2017, Dot Time Records Legend Series marks the milestone by making available never-before released music of Ella Fitzgerald. 

“Live at Chautauqua -Volume 2” is the second half of her sold-out concert that took place at the historic Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater in Western New York near Lake Erie. It features Tee Carson and his trio consisting of Keter Betts on bass and Joe Harris on drums.
Jerry Roche, who heads the Legend Series of Dot Time Records, said, “With these previously unreleased recordings we are blessed to hear her again in great voice while handling a fine set of standards and new material”.

These previously unreleased recordings have quite a history. Gina Alley-Crook, who inherited the recording from her father-in-law stated: “I first came across this recording when my husband brought it back from his father’s collection of things from his early years as a musician. 

"Having been a child of the late 60’s and early 70’s,  I was thrilled to hold the reel to reel recording of Ella Fitzgerald. The Chautauqua Institute did not usually record their musical events but Ella gave permission to record that evening’s performance. Later that year, my father-in-law who volunteered at the Institute from time to time, was gifted the reel to reel. It has been in my family for more than four decades. One of my greatest passions is preserving history. I knew someday that someone would hear how special this recording was.”

This May, Dot Time Records will release the 1st edition (“The Standard Oil Sessions”) of their Louis Armstrong Legacy Series comprising four albums of previously unreleased recordings from Louis Armstrong’s personal collection arranged through a licensing agreement with the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation.
What more could the jazz lover want, previously unheard recordings from Ella and Louis – A match made in heaven.

Two Philadelphia Youth Orchestra organization musicians have been selected for the three-week summer program known as NYO2, an extension of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra (NYO) of the USA. They are Antonis Christou, 16, double bass student musician who lives in Mooretown, NJ and a member of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra (PYO), and Peirce Ellis, 14, viola student musician from Philadelphia who is a member of the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra (PYAO). The intensive summer program for outstanding American instrumentalists ages 14–17 was launched in the summer of 2016 to expand the pool of young musicians across the country equipped with the tools to succeed at the highest level. NYO2 is free to all participants and offers promising, young musicians the unique opportunity to play alongside talented peers, learn from a world-class faculty, and perform with special guest artists on the stages of some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Following an intensive residency at Purchase College, State University of New York (SUNY) in conjunction with NYO-USA, the musicians of NYO2 will make their Carnegie Hall debut on Thursday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. with conductor Giancarlo Guerrero, who will be returning to lead the orchestra for the second straight season. The program will include Copland’s Billy the Kid Suite, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (1919 version) in a side-by-side performance with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and a set with special guest vocalist and bassist Esperanza Spalding. The orchestra will also perform in Philadelphia’s Verizon Hall two days prior, on Tuesday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m., in a concert that will feature Falla’s “The Three-Cornered Hat” Suite No. 2, performed by The Philadelphia Orchestra, in addition to the pieces listed above. Over the course of three days in Philadelphia, the NYO2 members will also have opportunities to interact with local young musicians. “We are thrilled to build on the success of NYO2’s inaugural season, and present these extraordinary young players on the Carnegie Hall stage for the very first time” said Clive Gillinson, Carnegie Hall’s Executive and Artistic Director. “The opportunity to work with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Giancarlo Guerrero, and Esperanza Spalding will be life-changing for these students, and we hope they will return home to their communities inspired to further develop their musicianship and use music to connect with audiences and people everywhere.” Louis Scaglione, President and Music Director of Philadelphia Youth Orchestra is thrilled for his students and smiles when he talks about the NYO2’s relationship with the Philadelphia Orchestra. “Antonis and Peirce are outstanding members of PYO, and we are very proud of this great honor to be selected to participate in NYO2. Every reviewer has lavished praise on this new production of the classic 1964 musical -- a 53-year-old gem with a 70+ year-old star.

Newly-elected Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez has declared that every Democrat must be 100% pro-abortion. And according to an official statement: “that is not negotiable.”

What does this mean?

Tolerance, diversity, and ‘choice’ be damned. Every Democrat must now support the party platform which includes abortion on demand, for any reason, during any month of pregnancy, up to and including partial-birth abortion. And of course, taxpayers must pay for it.

The game is up: Fall in line, or get out.

The Democratic Party has told Catholics who believe in the sanctity of life that they are no longer welcome inside their party. Sure, they’ll take your votes. But when it comes to Catholics and our belief in the dignity of unborn children and the rights of mothers -- get lost!

But did you know that 23% of Democrats are pro-life?

Democratic candidates that claim to be pro-life now face a dilemma. Will they challenge their own party leadership? Or will they wimp out, and continue to take millions of dollars from Planned Parenthood and the DNC, and hope to fool voters once again?

Senators Bob Casey Jr. (D-PA), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Joe Donnelly (D-IN), all face re-election next year. All three ran as ‘pro-life Democrats’ despite their mixed records.

Will they campaign with their party’s chairman?

Will they use DNC staff, and take campaign money from the national party?

And if so, what will they owe Chairman Perez?

If you are a Democrat, you can disagree with your party on health care, religious liberty, taxes, climate change… you name it. But if you are not 100% on board with abortion, then you are dead to them. 

It’s tragic. And I wish it wasn’t so.

In some ways the clarity is refreshing. We've endured the phony double-speak long enough.

Now it’s up to us to call them out. Shame them for their intolerance.

And make sure every Catholic voter knows the truth.

Today the Scott Wagner for Governor campaign committee released findings from a recent internal poll conducted by the campaign on the state of the 2018 Pennsylvania GOP Gubernatorial Primary.

The poll, conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, confirmed what the campaign has been hearing and seeing on the ground since Senator Wagner announced his candidacy.

Republican voters across the state are lining up in support of Scott Wagner’s candidacy.

“Scott Wagner is the clear front-runner in the 2018 GOP Gubernatorial Primary. He holds sizable leads among all opponents in different matchup tests and has a solid base of support across the Commonwealth that no other candidate can lay credit to,” explains Campaign strategist Ryan Shafik.
