Curtains Up!

If you don't see the new musical Curtains on Broadway you're missing the finest musical comedy to hit the great white way in years. I saw the show this past autumn as part of a birthday outing and adored every minute of it. Critic Jeff Lyons of NBC called Curtains “A BIG DELIGHTFUL MUSICAL packed full of show-stopping numbers and the wittiest book in years! Long may it run!”
I received the original cast recording of this wonderful musical for Christmas and can't stop playing it. The extraordinary score by Kander and Ebb is packed with catchy tunes. And the show's stars, David Hyde Pierce, Debra Monk and Karen Zemba are fantastic. In fact everybody in the cast is wonderful. This is the hardest-working cast I've seen in many years. And this is one of those times when all of the hard work shows and glows.
Curtains is everything that Broadway should be. It's why Broadway was born.
So, skip Spring Awakening and Young Frankenstein and yet another revival of A Chorus Line and go see Curtains. And after that make sure you see The Drowsy Chaperone which is now on a national tour.
You'll have a great time and find yourself whistling many a happy tune!
