From Flash News:
The Corvette may be getting a makeover, and lovers of the classic cars aren’t looking forward to it. With General Motors officially going bankrupt and now relying on the government for help, Corvette owners are a bit worried of what this means for the classic convertible.
Since GM owns the Corvette brand, it’s possible that changes may be made that will leave fans revved up in anger, or worse, production will cease full stop.
Jim Rapose, spokesperson for the Monterey Peninsula Corvette Club in Salinas, California, believes the car has a legacy strong enough to survive the government’s hands.
However, he says that if the government were to cease production or change the look, performance, and handling of the Corvette, all hell would break lose amongst collectors.
He says, “Anytime the government is involved you get a different vibe. We don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
