The LA Times is reporting that Jerry Brown or one of his aides is heard referring to Meg Whitman as a "whore" -- and this in a private conversation inadvertently captured on voicemail.
This is a disgrace.
Pure and simple. It's unacceptable. It's a disgrace.
And Borwn ought to come clean about it pronto.
Who called Meg Whitman a whore? Was it Brown? Was it one of his aides?
A Brown spokersperson has already confirmed the authenticity of the tape. But the Brown campaign says it can't determine who said this. Baloney. B-A-L-O-N-E-Y.
Brown and his people know who said this (they admit their language is "salty") and they ought to tell the truth about it.
This from a Whitman spokesperson: "The use of the term 'whore' is an insult to both Meg Whitman and to the women of California. This is an appalling and unforgivable smear against Meg Whitman. At the very least Mr. Brown tacitly approved this despicable slur and he himself may have used the term at least once on this recording."
