Customers are also reminded that all driver tests (written/road), driver conferences and specialty vehicle inspections previously scheduled for October 29 through November 3 have been cancelled. The MVC will contact customers to reschedule the services for those dates.

The MVC will begin conducting scheduled CDL road testing at the following locations on Saturday, November 3: Bakers Basin, Cherry Hill, Lodi, Miller Air Park, Rahway and Wayne. All other scheduled road testing will resume on Monday, November 5.

To ease the burden on customers who did not have a chance to visit a facility last month for service, MVC Chairman and Chief Administrator Raymond P. Martinez has issued Administrative Order 2012-03 authorizing a 30-day extension for all driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations and inspection that expired on October 31. The administrative order is available on the MVC’s website.

Individuals and businesses with motor vehicles and boats that were damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Sandy and require a salvage title may find information on the MVC’s website at http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/SpecialVehicles.htm

Martinez has also issued Administrative Order 2012-05, which will provide an International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) penalty waiver to those individuals and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy.  The penalty waiver applies to any late returns filed or payments made by affected IFTA taxpayers postmarked between November 1, 2012 and November 7, 2012.  Waivers of interest will be limited to interest owed to New Jersey and to any other IFTA state or province that authorizes the MVC to waive its interest. The administrative order is available on the MVC’s website.

Lastly, Administrative Order 2012-06 was issued, which authorizes an extension of temporary vehicle registration tags (temp tags) that expire between November 1 and November 9, 2012. The expiration of the tags will be extended until November 10, 2012. The administrative order is available on the MVC’s website.
