Video: Blind Man Beaten In Broad Daylight


The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect for an aggravated assault in Southwest Germantown.

On October 2, 2013, at 12:06 pm, a Philadelphia Police Department Real Time Crime Center Camera located on the northeast corner of Wayne Avenue and Seymour Street captured an aggravated assault of a 33 year-old male who is blind.

The complainant was walking east on Seymour Street towards Wayne Avenue. The suspect who was standing on the corner store appears to look down the street as the complainant approaches. When the complainant approaches the corner the suspect the strikes the complainant knocking him to the ground and then proceeds to kick and stomp the complainant causing injuries to his face and head as he lay helpless on the ground. After the assault the suspect left the area south on Wayne Avenue from Seymour Street.

Suspect Description: Black male, 20 years-of-age, wearing a tan colored baseball cap, tan shirt, Khaki pants and carrying a dark colored back pack.
