Golden Globes Live Blog - Part 9

Emma Thompson is barefoot.

Best original screenplay: Spike Jonze for Her. Well, it was original, sorta. Jonze admits that he's a terrible public speaker "and I'm bad at speaking English and it's the only language I know." Apparently, it took him three years to write this and it's taking him almost that long to thank everybody for the award.

Laure Dern. She's here to intro her father's movie, Nebraska.

Andy Samberg wins (first time) for Brooklyn Nine Nine.

ITALY won Best Foreign Film. Molto bene!

Melissa McCarthy and Jimmy Fallow. WhataContrast!

MICHAEL DOUGLAS wins for playing the great Liberace in Behind The Candelabra. Magnifico! Again, very well deserved. Michael looks very distinguished tonight. He calls the role "an incredible gift." And so it was. He calls Matt Damon "the greatest, talented actor I've ever worked with" and tells Damon "the only reason you're not here is I had more sequins." Douglas is classy and his speech is extraordinary. He's Hollywood royalty.
